Soy & Beeswax Melting Curves & Frosting Prevention
Soy wax exhibits complex polymorphic crystallization (alpha, beta-prime, and stable beta crystals). Rapid temperature drops cause polymorphic phase shifts that manifest as surface "frosting" or cracking. Renaud utilizes a dual-lipid system blending low-melt soy wax (115°F–120°F) with high-melt Colorado beeswax (144°F–147°F). Beeswax acts as a natural crystal modifier, raising the overall hardness, eliminating paraffin additives, and dramatically extending total burn duration.
