Private-label skincare for med spas

Disclosure: Renaud Naturals is LabelOrigin's flagship client — Renaud pays LabelOrigin to bring it wholesale buyers. LabelOrigin doesn't sell product; Renaud quotes and fulfills.

Your clients arrive already educated — they read ingredient lists and ask hard questions at the consultation. A private-label line lets you answer with products that carry your name and your protocols, sold as the aftercare to the treatments you already perform. Your own line usually keeps more margin than reselling another brand — and recommending a product that carries your name never feels like pushing products, because it is the aftercare you already prescribe. The formulas come from Renaud Naturals, formulating and making natural skincare in-house in Loveland, Colorado since 1997. Request a sample kit, try the formulas in your treatment room, and launch a line your providers would recommend.

What does a private-label skincare line for a med spa look like?

A med-spa line is usually built around the treatment menu: a gentle cleanser and barrier moisturizer for post-procedure care, a daily serum for maintenance between visits, sun protection, and one or two targeted products matched to your most-booked services. The products are sold as aftercare first and retail second, recommended in the consultation and dispensed at the front desk.

Because your clients are already ingredient-literate, the line lives or dies on transparency: full ingredient lists, plain explanations of what each product does, and no borrowed clinical language you cannot support. Clients who trust the clinic trust the products; clients who catch an overstatement stop trusting both. The longer educational version of this page — positioning, the five steps, and what to ask a manufacturer — is the private-label guide for med spas.

How it works

Four steps, from sample kit to shelf. The full approach is described on our process page; this is how it applies to a med-spa line.

1

Request a sample kit

Tell us your treatments and the products you want the line to cover. We send a kit to try in the treatment room, on skin, over days — the way your clients will actually use it.

2

Choose your path

Stock formulas that already exist, or a custom formula developed to your specification. Stock is faster to start; custom gives you a formula nobody else sells. Our guide to private label vs. custom formulation compares the two paths.

3

Your label

Your name, your protocols, your packaging. The brand owner is generally responsible for label content and regulatory compliance, so confirm the label review process before launch.

4

Launch and reorder

A first run sized to a few months of realistic sales, not to a manufacturer's largest tier. Reorder minimums usually match first-order minimums, so plan the second run before the first sells out.

Objections, answered

What are the minimums?

Low minimums, sized to a practice — not to a national brand. We do not publish a number on this page because the per-SKU minimum depends on the formula and packaging you choose. Ask in the sample-request form and we will reply with the current per-SKU minimums for the formulas on your shortlist, in writing, before you commit to anything.

How long does it take?

Stock formulas move faster than custom formulation, which needs development time and usually a second sample round. We do not quote a turnaround on this page because it depends on the route you choose and the formulas on your shortlist. Ask in the sample-request form and we will reply with the current timing for your line.

What about ingredients and compliance?

Ask for full ingredient disclosure — complete lists for every formula, including fragrance components — before you approve anything. Ask what testing is included in the quote and what is billed separately: stability, preservative-effectiveness, and any safety testing. And confirm who checks the label, and whether regulatory review is part of the service or an extra. The label review matters: labeling obligations generally sit with you as the brand owner.

Who handles MoCRA?

MoCRA — the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 — expanded the FDA's authority over cosmetics, including facility registration, product listing, safety substantiation, adverse event reporting, and good manufacturing practice. The "responsible person" under MoCRA is the manufacturer, packer, or distributor whose name appears on the product label — for a private-label brand, that is usually you, the brand owner, not the contract manufacturer. The duties cannot be handed off by contract alone, but the practical work can be assigned: a manufacturer can register its facility, list products, and keep records. Confirm in writing who does what, and verify it. Our MoCRA guide for brand owners explains the duties in plain terms.

Your providers are the quality filter. If the clinicians performing the treatments would not recommend a product to their own patients, it does not belong in your line — no matter how good the margin looks on paper.

For the numbers behind a first run, read our cost guide and the low-MOQ explainer. For choosing the partner, our guide to choosing a skincare manufacturer scores what matters. When you are ready, the Renaud Naturals funnel starts from your practice's details and volume.

Renaud Naturals: a private-label funnel built for wholesale buyers

Renaud Naturals has formulated and manufactured all of its products in-house in Loveland, Colorado since 1997 — small batches, fresh to order, made in the USA, shipped across the USA and abroad. The company offers private-label stock formulas and custom formulation, and works through a five-step process from brief to delivery.

Renaud Naturals is LabelOrigin's flagship client. Our work is the funnel and the qualified buyers: a dedicated page that speaks to spas, salons, estheticians, and independent brands, asks about business type, volume, and program interest, and routes the buyers who fit to Renaud's desk. See the live funnel at labelorigin.com/renaud/.

What LabelOrigin does not do

Two boundaries keep this page honest. First, we do not manufacture anything. We do not formulate, fill, label, or ship products. Renaud Naturals makes the product; we bring the buyers and build the funnel. Second, we do not buy attention. Every buyer we bring in arrives through organic search, guides, and outreach — never through bought placement. If you want a line of your own with a manufacturer behind it, that is the work. If you want someone to make the product, that is the manufacturer's own craft, and we leave it to them.

Learn more about who we are on the about page, or start with the manufacturer lead-generation service to see how the funnel, qualification, and routing fit together. The guide on how to find wholesale buyers is the reading we hand to brands on the other side of the table.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a med-spa private-label line start with?

The aftercare your treatments already need: a gentle cleanser and barrier moisturizer for post-procedure care, a daily serum, and sun protection — usually four to six products tied to your most-booked services. Start from your top three services and work backward to the aftercare each one needs.

What are the minimums?

Low minimums, sized to a practice rather than a national brand. The per-SKU minimum depends on the formula and packaging you choose, so we do not publish a number here — ask in the sample-request form and we will reply with the current per-SKU minimums for your shortlist in writing before you commit.

How long does it take to launch?

Stock formulas are faster than custom formulation, which needs development time and usually a second sample round. Turnaround depends on the route and the formulas you choose, so ask in the sample-request form and we will reply with the current timing for your line.

Who handles MoCRA compliance?

Under MoCRA, the responsible person is the manufacturer, packer, or distributor whose name appears on the product label — for a private-label brand, that is usually you, the brand owner. A manufacturer can do much of the practical work, such as registering its facility, listing products, and keeping records, but the legal duties stay with the brand owner. Confirm in writing who does what, and verify it.

Can I try the products before I commit?

Yes — request a sample kit and try the formulas in your treatment room, on skin, over days. Have your providers evaluate samples on post-procedure suitability specifically, since skin recovering from a procedure needs gentler, simpler formulas than daily maintenance products.
